What are you waiting for?

Time for a trade-in?

“Religion” tries to fix up the old you, constantly tinkering with you here and there, but never really fixing the problems. Kind of like taking your beat up car in for repairs over and over again. It may seem to help a little, but you still drive away the same old clunker.

When you finally realize that your old life is beyond repair and religion is costing you way too much – it’s time for a trade-in. You need something new. Instead of religion, you need Jesus. He doesn’t “repair” the old you, He accepts the trade-in of your old broken life and exchanges it for a BRAND NEW life in Him.  Just think, a brand new shiny life in Christ, no more religious tinkering or religious payments – because Jesus already paid it all. Now that’s good news! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Return of the King

This video is worth a watch. It is not intended to frighten, but to bring home the reality of this, the most incredible event of all time, that is possibly looming in the very doorway of our future at this moment. Wow. Though many of us have heard about the secong coming of Jesus from our childhood, it still seems almost seems like a fairytale at times; but if we could only peel back the veil that separates the natural realm from the spiritual realm and peek into the preparations God is making at this moment for Christ’s return, we would be stunned.

The return of Jesus is indeed very real, very exciting and at the same time very sobering. The most important things for each one of us to do right now while we still have time is to first, be ready in our own hearts to behold Him face to face. This will be a pleasant experience only to those who have received His salvation by faith and trust in Him. Those who have received His free gift of eternal life will count the moment He returns as the great climax of the ages when they finally get to see the One they have longed for.

If we now fear His coming or hope it doesn’t happen, then we need to take a deep and probing look into our  own hearts right now – to see where we honestly stand with Jesus. Have we made Him our Lord by faith? Are we truly saved and forgiven by receiving His gift of grace and forgiveness into our own heart? I believe we are truly witnessing the “end of the age” events beginning to unfold in our world. Let us all be watching and awaiting the return of our King Jesus!

Jesus…He just plain loves you!

He came to save you. He could not bear the thought of eternity without you.

My God Story

I was born in 1956, but my life really began in 1998. That’s when I was born the second time; the important time. This is when I was given life…true, abundant and never ending life.
It wasn’t a religious thing as some might think, but quite the opposite. It had nothing to do with religion, or going to church at all. It’s like this: I was offered an incredible gift and I accepted it – simple as that.
It was the gift of life that Jesus offered me – free and clear. Someone loved me enough to tell me about it… that Jesus paid the full penalty for my sin, and offers me total forgiveness and eternal life if I was willing to believe it. For some reason, I was. I would have been crazy not to. It was the best news I ever heard. No great effort or glory on my part. I simply believed and said OK and Jesus did the rest. My life changed that day. Something real happened inside of me. God came in – no kidding.
Things happened that were beyond my ability to make them happen. Addictions broke in a day, fear of death vanished, as awareness and an assurance of eternal life sprang up in me. I began to know God. Incredible! Almighty God was paying attention to me…personally! I go to bed… He is there. I wake up… He is there. I talk to Him, He answers me. The love of God for me overwhelms me, His abiding presence thrills me, and His promises sustain me. It’s all too wonderful for me to contain, I just have to tell somebody about this or I’ll bust. This is why we were created!
Am I some religious nut? No. religion has nothing to do with it. The following quote from the Apostle Paul says it for me as well: “What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn’t work. So I quit being a “law man” so that I could be God’s man. Christ’s life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine”, but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that.” (Galatians 2:20 – The Message)
